PortWise to Exhibit at the Security, Risk and Compliance (SRC) Pavilion at Oracle OpenWorld
PALO ALTO, California – November 11, 2007 – PortWise, Inc., a member of the Oracle® PartnerNetwork, today announced the availability of a broad set of integrated identity and access management solutions for Oracle customers. The solutions will be showcased at The Security, Risk and Compliance (SRC) Pavilion at Oracle OpenWorld, November 11 – 15, 2007. The PortWise 4.6 strong authentication platform integrates with Oracle 10g products to maximize user productivity and ease management. Attributes for user authorization and provisioning are shared from the Oracle Internet Directory, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, with PortWise 4.6 to create a secure access solution. For administrators, setup has never been easier and requires very little overhead to manage users.

The municipality of Borås selects the PortWise product suite to secure its eGovernment services
PALO ALTO, CA and STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – August 21, 2007. The Swedish municipality of Borås has selected the PortWise product suite to secure its eGovernment services. PortWise unique scalability allows Borås stad to deliver secure online services to over 100 000 users. - ”We selected PortWise because they truly show an interest for us as a customer and for our requirements and that they are flexible and are at the edge of technology” says Johannes Adolfsson, IT strategy officer at Borås Stad. “The evaluation of different vendors showed us that no one except PortWise delivered a secure and integrated solution with support for the Swedish national identity cards.”

Forum Systems and PortWise announced the successful integration of Forum Systems XWall Web Services Firewall with the PortWise 4.5 SSL VPN and available as a bundled solution. This partnership addresses the need for combined SSL traffic security with deep content inspection and security of XML documents exchanged by employee, partner, and consumer interactions within corporate applications and data across the Internet. Forum XWall is able to scan binary attachments embedded with XML documents that can carry viruses and malicious software undetected across corporate networks. XML will increasingly be used as a file format for office applications and as a standard for spreadsheets, presentations as well as databases.

PortWise’s basic tenet is to protect remote access to organisational assets via a combination of both user and device authorisation. This principle acknowledges that users may be connecting to the host network via a variety of remote devices, including all sorts of mobile or third-party devices. So the first step in accepting such a connection is to assess the device being used and its relevant state of security. In extreme cases, devices considered as being non-compliant may be refused entry.
