In order to ensure that nothing malicious gets on the internal network, end user devices must be checked for integrity to ensure they meet the security requirements set forth by the organization. As more and more threats focus on devices, rather than the firewalls protecting the perimeter of the network, this is a crucial step in providing in-depth security. PortWise device assessment includes the following:
- Deep Device Examination – Rapid scan of every device (e.g. laptop or PDA) before it connects to the corporate network to match against network, application, file or operating system requirements, e.g. is anti-virus software installed on their end-point, and is it up to date?
- Access Client Security (Application Control) – Only approved applications will gain access to the network resulting in much tighter security of user activities.

- Access Client Security (Network Control) – Allows administrators to control how traffic is routed during a session, thus protecting against external connections through the device into the corporate network.

- Real-Time Scanning – Continuous scanning of the device throughout a session protects against session violations.
- Heterogeneous – ActiveX and Java support means examination of a broad group of devices.
